The short answer
Agentforce is Salesforce's own AI platform. It's deeply built in and can run AI agents at large scale, including ones that talk to your customers. It's a strong choice for organizations with the budget, the data, and the people to build and run it.
Hank is a Salesforce assistant for everyday staff. People ask questions in plain English, Hank answers from your Salesforce, and he helps keep your data clean with changes a person approves. He's priced for the whole team and set up in about 15 minutes.
If you want customer-facing AI agents, look at Agentforce. If you want your team to get answers from Salesforce without reports or training, and you're watching the budget, Hank is likely the better fit.
What each one is for
Agentforce is a platform for building AI agents. Teams use it to create agents that handle service conversations, qualify leads, or carry out multi-step work inside Salesforce. It's Salesforce's own product, so it works across Salesforce's clouds, and some setups also use Data Cloud.
Hank does one job well: helping the people who already use your Salesforce. Staff ask things like "which deals close this month?" or "who hasn't given since last spring?", and Hank finds the answer in your org, shows what he checked, and suggests next steps. He can also find duplicates and messy data, draft emails, and propose new or updated records. Nothing changes until a person approves it.
Hank doesn't build customer-facing bots, and he doesn't act on his own.
Cost at list price
These are published list prices as of September 2026. Vendors change pricing, and many organizations negotiate, so check each vendor's own pricing page.
Agentforce, from Salesforce's pricing page:
- Agentforce add-ons: $125 per user per month ($150 for Industries add-ons).
- Agentforce User License: $5 per user per month, plus Flex Credits bought separately ($500 per 100,000 credits; a standard action uses 20 credits).
- Agentforce 1 editions: from $550 per user per month.
- Salesforce Foundations ($0) includes some free AI building tools, such as Prompt Builder and Agentforce Builder.
Hank is priced per organization, not per person:
- Essentials: $99 a month, about 300 questions a month.
- Starter: $200 a month, about 500 questions a month, and Hank can suggest fixes for approval.
- Growth: $600 a month, about 1,500 questions a month, plus shared folders.
- Organization: $2,000 a month, about 5,000 questions a month, plus custom assistants.
The trade-off: Hank's price includes a monthly allowance of questions. A team that asks thousands of questions a day would outgrow it, and per-user pricing may make more sense at that scale.
Setup effort
Agentforce setup depends on what you're building. A simple use of the built-in assistant can be quick. Custom agents, actions, and connected data usually take planning, configuration, testing, and often an implementation partner. Some setups also need Data Cloud.
Hank installs as a package from a link, connects with a one-time code, and is ready in about 15 minutes. There's no Data Cloud, no separate AI account, and nothing to build. An admin adds people on the Hank setup tab, and they start asking questions from the utility bar.
Safety and control
Both respect Salesforce permissions. With Hank, it's the whole design:
- Hank works as each person, so he only sees what that person can already see.
- Nothing changes without a person's approval, and every approved change is logged with the values before and after.
- Visios doesn't store your Salesforce records, your team's questions, or Hank's answers.

Who each one fits
Agentforce tends to fit:
- Larger organizations with a Salesforce team or partner to build and run agents.
- Customer-facing AI: service agents, chat on your website, automated lead handling.
- Organizations already investing in Data Cloud or Salesforce's newest editions.
Hank tends to fit:
- Small and mid-sized organizations where most people aren't Salesforce experts.
- Teams that want answers without building reports, and better adoption of the Salesforce they already pay for.
- Organizations that want a predictable monthly price for the whole team.
- Anyone who wants AI help with a person approving every change.
Can you use both?
Yes. They don't conflict. Some organizations use Agentforce for customer-facing work and Hank for everyday staff questions and data cleanup.
Where Hank fits
If your Salesforce is full of good information that your team struggles to get to, Hank closes that gap quickly and for a fixed monthly price. You can meet Hank on the home page and ask him anything, see pricing, or email jpm@visios.us for a walkthrough.
