Agentforce (formerly Einstein Copilot) for small Salesforce orgs: is it worth it?

Salesforce's AI assistant, once called Einstein Copilot, is now part of Agentforce. For a small org, the real questions are cost, setup, and what your team actually needs.

What happened to Einstein Copilot

If you searched for Einstein Copilot, you're in the right place. Salesforce folded its AI assistant into Agentforce, its platform for AI agents, so today the assistant and the agent-building tools are sold and set up under the Agentforce name.

For a small organization, with a handful of Salesforce users and maybe a part-time admin, the question is simple: is it worth it for us?

What a small org usually wants from AI

Small teams don't usually want to build AI agents. They want:

  • Answers without building reports: "which deals close this month?", "who hasn't ordered since spring?"
  • Less time hunting through records and tabs.
  • Help keeping data clean: duplicates, missing fields, inconsistent values.
  • Something that works without a consultant on retainer.

What Agentforce costs a small org

These are published list prices as of September 2026. They may have changed, so check Salesforce's pricing page.

  • Agentforce add-ons: $125 per user per month.
  • Agentforce User License: $5 per user per month, plus Flex Credits bought separately ($500 per 100,000 credits; a standard action uses 20 credits).
  • Agentforce 1 editions: from $550 per user per month.
  • Salesforce Foundations ($0) includes some free AI building tools, such as Prompt Builder and Agentforce Builder.

What setup involves

A basic setup can be quick, but getting real value usually means deciding what the AI should do, setting up actions and permissions, testing, and training people. Some setups also need Data Cloud. Many organizations bring in an implementation partner. For a small org without a full-time admin, that time is the real cost.

When Agentforce makes sense for a small org

It's worth it when:

  • You want customer-facing AI, like a service agent on your website.
  • You have specific, repeatable processes you want automated inside Salesforce.
  • You have an admin or partner with time to build and look after it.

A simpler alternative

Hank is a Salesforce assistant built for this situation. Your team asks questions in plain English from the utility bar, and Hank answers from your own Salesforce, using only what each person can already see.

  • $99 a month for the whole organization on Essentials (about 300 questions a month), not per user.
  • Ready in about 15 minutes: install from a link, connect with a one-time code.
  • Finds duplicates and messy data, and suggests fixes that wait for a person's approval.
  • No Data Cloud, no separate AI account, nothing to build.

Hank isn't for building customer-facing bots. He's for helping the people who already use your Salesforce.

How to decide

Start with the problem, not the product. If your team struggles to get answers from Salesforce, try the simplest thing that solves that. If you need AI agents that act on their own or talk to customers, look at Agentforce.
