The short answer
A good Agentforce implementation partner for a nonprofit knows your Salesforce setup, starts small, prices the work clearly, and tells you honestly when you don't need something. Before you hire anyone, be clear about the problem you want AI to solve. Many nonprofits find they need a simpler tool, not a full implementation.
First, decide whether you need Agentforce
Agentforce is Salesforce's platform for AI agents. It's strong for customer-facing AI, like a service agent on your website, and for automating repeatable processes. If what your team mainly wants is quick answers about donors, gifts, and programs, a full Agentforce project may be more than you need. We cover this in do nonprofits need Agentforce?
What an implementation partner does
A partner usually helps you:
- Decide what the AI agents should do, and what they shouldn't.
- Get your data ready, since AI is only as good as the records it reads.
- Set up actions, permissions, and testing.
- Train staff and support you after launch.
What to look for
- Nonprofit experience: do they know whether you're on Nonprofit Cloud or the Nonprofit Success Pack, and how your donors, gifts, households, and programs are set up?
- A small first step: a good partner suggests one useful use case first, not a large project.
- Clear pricing: a fixed scope and price for the first phase, and plain answers about ongoing license costs.
- Data honesty: they should look at your data quality before promising results.
- Support after launch: who looks after it when your staff or Salesforce changes?
- References: ask to speak with a nonprofit about your size that they've worked with.
You can find Salesforce consultants, with reviews, in the consultants section of Salesforce's AppExchange.
Questions to ask a partner
- What would you build first for us, and why?
- What will it cost in the first year, including Salesforce licenses?
- Do we need Data Cloud for this?
- What do we need to clean up before AI is useful?
- Who on our team will look after it once you're done?
- When would you tell a nonprofit not to use Agentforce?
When a simpler option fits better
If your fundraising and program staff mainly want answers, like "who gave last year but not this year?" or "how many people did we serve this month?", Hank may be enough. Staff ask in plain English from the utility bar, and Hank answers from your Salesforce, including Nonprofit Cloud and the Nonprofit Success Pack. It's one price for the whole organization, starting at $99 a month, and setup takes about 15 minutes, with no implementation project.
